World-class Scholarship is Empowering School Principals and Transforming Communities

The Teachers Mutual Bank Principals Scholarship, an initiative aimed at empowering educational leaders, has been instrumental in transforming the lives of recipients, their schools and entire communities.

Established a decade ago in partnership with the Public Education Foundation, the Teachers Mutual Bank Principals Scholarship gives successful applicants the opportunity to attend a world-class leadership program at the Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.

Teachers Mutual Bank’s Chief Marketing Officer, Nichole Banks, highlighted the significance of the Scholarship in creating a ripple effect beyond a professional development opportunity for principals.

“The Teachers Mutual Bank Principals Scholarship has been instrumental in driving positive change, not only for recipients, but for entire school communities by providing principals with the opportunity to nurture their own growth and further their leadership capabilities,” Nichole said.

“The Scholarship empowers principals to cultivate an environment that fosters excellence and inclusivity, which has a profound impact on the lives of their staff, students and their families.”

The transformative experience at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education equips principals with invaluable knowledge, leadership strategies and a global network of like-minded professionals enabling them to implement innovative approaches tailored to their unique school environments.

Principal of Greenacre Public School and the 2017 Teachers Mutual Bank Principals Scholarship recipient, Melissa Proctor, saw the importance of sharing her learnings from the leadership program with her colleagues.

“What I have learnt is, that the better I am, the better my school is. As part of the Primary Principal Council, I network very closely with other principals and aspiring leaders, so it was really great to be able to come back and share my learnings from the Principals Scholarship with them,” Melissa shared.

Applications for the 2024 Teachers Mutual Bank Principals Scholarship are open now until the 31 October 2023. Principals who are passionate about making a difference are encouraged to apply.
