Susan is the School Sport Organiser at Sturt Public School and has been in this role since 2003. Apart from the conducting the major school carnivals; swimming, cross country and athletics, Susan has coached numerous school teams including touch, netball, rugby union, rugby league and softball for the past decade. Susan also co-ordinates the School Swimming and Water Safety Program. As Sturt Public School Boys’ softball coach, she has successfully reached NSWPSSA State Knockout finals on numerous occasions. Winning this State knockout still is a goal that Susan and her students are striving to achieve. Susan’s commitment to school sport has seen many students represent the school at zone and regional level. Susan is an integral member of the Wagga PSSA team. Elected to the role of Vice-President in 2009, Susan became Zone President in 2013, a position she still holds today. She has fulfilled these positions with honour and integrity. She is a teacher who is dedicated and committed to the organisation and promotion of school sport at all levels. At Regional level, Susan has been Riverina’s boys’ softball convenor since 2002. Susan has also been a carnival manager for the NSWPSSA Tennis and assisted in the carnival organisation for boy’s softball. Susan received a multitude of praise for her organisation of these carnivals from all involved. At State level Susan has managed the NSW Boys’ Softball Team for the last 5 years. The NSW Team has been crowned National Champions four times. She has been a presenter of the TPL Softball Level 1and 2 coaching accreditation course. This has involved her upskilling both primary and secondary teachers in the sport of softball. Last year Susan received a NSW PSSA Sports Specific Service Award. Susan is well known and respected in the education and sporting communities in the Riverina. She is a tremendous role model for the young and inexperienced staff starting out in school sport.
