Melissa’s project is the Sydney STEAM Wonder: Embedding the Arts in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The focus of her study is to explore the learning and teaching variables needed to embed the Arts in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The scholarship provides money for a study tour which will help Melissa to build on her current skills to develop parallel curriculum activities in STEM to create STEAM education. She aims to enhance the myriad of technological possibilities related to igniting student passion and exposing teachers to the drivers for student choices via STEAM inquiry and project based learning. Her current STEAM practices incorporate the facilitation of primary coding clubs, makerspaces and ICT integrated projects from Kindergarten to Year 12. Pictured here with the The Hon.
