As the Principal of Bass Hill Public School, she has been in the role for 3 years and in that time has turned the school around so that it is no longer viewed by the community as a school “not to go to”. Her ability to implement a completely different culture at Bass Hill and reduce the suspensions from 50 to 0 in three years makes her an excellent candidate for the Teachers Mutual Bank Harvard Scholarship. Melissa was selected against a highly competitive field.
